Algeria is gearing up to host the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025 (IATF2025), a premier event expected to facilitate trade and investment deals worth over $44 billion.
Scheduled for September 4–10, 2025, in Algiers, the fair will bring together more than 35,000 visitors from over 140 countries, solidifying its position as Africa’s leading marketplace for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Addressing the Advisory Council of IATF, Algeria’s Minister of External Trade and Export Promotion, Mohammed Boukhari, emphasized the country’s readiness to host the event.
“Algeria has expressed its full readiness to organise IATF2025, especially given our extensive capabilities and resources,” Boukhari said. A high-level intersectoral committee has been established to oversee preparations, ensuring the event aligns with Algeria’s economic goals. Boukhari noted that hosting the fair reflects Algeria’s commitment to its African identity and aspirations for continental integration.
The fair will feature over 2,000 exhibitors showcasing goods and services, alongside activities like the Africa Automotive Show and the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme. Special days dedicated to countries and entities will spotlight trade opportunities, while platforms like business-to-business matchmaking and research hubs will foster collaboration.
Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President at Afreximbank, praised Algeria’s efforts: “IATF2025 is pivotal to advancing intra-African trade. We encourage local businesses, especially SMEs, to seize this opportunity to expand their markets.” Previous editions of IATF have cumulatively generated over $100 billion in trade deals, underscoring its transformative impact on Africa’s economic landscape.
