Activist Shakira Wafula has announced her immediate resignation from the Political Committee of former Chief Justice David Maraga’s presidential campaign. Shakira Wafula, who rose to national fame during the 2024 Gen Z protests for her bold actions against police brutality, cited a divergence in foundational values and priorities as the reason for her departure.
This move has sparked widespread discussion about the stability of Maraga’s bid for the 2027 Kenyan presidency and its potential ripple effects. As a fitness coach, community leader, and vice chairperson of Kikao, she advocates for wellness, civic education, and social impact.
