Alphamatone Nyasetia, widely known as Komo Komo, has formally declared his bid for the Nyaribari Masaba parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, setting the stage for a competitive political contest in the constituency ahead of the next general election.
Addressing the press, Nyasetia unveiled an ambitious agenda anchored on economic revitalization, youth empowerment and accountable leadership, positioning himself as part of a new crop of leaders determined to deliver practical and immediate solutions to the challenges facing ordinary Kenyans.
Komo Komo said his decision to run was informed by growing concerns over economic hardship, unemployment and what he described as a disconnect between leaders and the people they serve.
“We are coming in as a new generation that believes in action. Kenyans are tired of promises—they want leaders who listen, respond and deliver solutions in real time,” Nyasetia said.
The aspirant also declared his support for Jubilee’s presidential hopeful Fred Matiang’i, describing his candidature as timely and necessary to steer the country into a new phase of leadership.
According to Nyasetia, the country is at a critical turning point and requires decisive leadership that prioritizes economic stability, institutional efficiency and inclusive growth.
At the same time, he took aim at the current administration, accusing it of falling short on key promises made to citizens. He called for urgent interventions within the remaining period of the government’s term, particularly in addressing the rising cost of living and unemployment.
“The people have waited long enough. There must be deliberate action to restore hope, rebuild confidence and improve livelihoods,” he said, adding that leadership must be measured by tangible impact rather than rhetoric.
Central to Nyasetia’s campaign is a plan to transform the local economy of Nyaribari Masaba through modern agribusiness, small-scale manufacturing and the adoption of technology-driven solutions. He noted that the constituency has significant untapped potential in agriculture and enterprise, which, if well harnessed, could create sustainable income for residents.
He emphasized the need to move beyond subsistence farming by introducing value addition, better market access and modern production techniques to increase productivity and profitability for farmers.
In addition, Komo Komo identified youth unemployment as one of the most pressing challenges facing the constituency, warning that the lack of opportunities has left many young people idle and vulnerable.
“It is unacceptable that our youth are left without options. They are energetic, talented and capable, but they lack platforms and support systems. We must invest in innovation, skills and opportunities so they can actively contribute to the economy,” he said.
Komo Komo Promises Accountability And Transparency
To address this, he pledged to roll out targeted programs focused on vocational training, digital skills development and entrepreneurship support. He said his leadership would prioritize partnerships with both public and private sector players to create job opportunities and nurture innovation among young people.
Nyasetia also underscored the importance of accountability and transparency in leadership, promising to maintain close engagement with constituents and ensure that public resources are utilized effectively for development.
“Leadership is a responsibility. It is about service, integrity and results. We must rebuild trust between the people and their leaders,” he added.
His declaration now adds momentum to the political landscape in Nyaribari Masaba, with more aspirants expected to join the race in the coming months. Political observers anticipate heightened activity in the constituency as candidates begin to outline their visions and rally support.
As campaigns gradually take shape, Komo Komo’s entry signals a shift toward issue-based politics, with voters likely to scrutinize candidates on their ability to address economic challenges, create jobs and deliver meaningful development.
With the political season gathering pace, all eyes will be on how candidates position themselves to win the confidence of the electorate in what is shaping up to be a closely watched contest.
