Safal MRM Foundation hosted its 24th Annual Mega Medical Camp at Mabati Medical Centre in Mariakani, Kilifi County. The initiative, held in partnership with the Lions Club of Mombasa, targets over 2,000 people from Mariakani and neighbouring communities by providing free medical services and bringing essential healthcare closer to residents.

As the country struggles to meet its budgetary obligations to the health sector amid surging strains on the health care sector, including a rise in infectious diseases and chronic complications like diabetes and hypertension. The recent Ebola outbreak has been particularly strenuous on the health sector due to the below-par preparedness and inadequate infrastructure to handle viral infections. Community health initiatives organized to complement existing healthcare structures are therefore important in helping fill gaps within the healthcare system by providing crucial services including diagnosis, disease management and treatment.
